Yoga offers to its practitioners way more than a couple of Asanas (yoga postures). Yoga in sanskrit means Union. Union of the mind, body and spirit, a connection that we can only experience when we are living fully in the present.
What you practice on the mat, applies to your life. We’re here to help ignite a fire deep within your soul, and nourish your spirit, body, and mind. Our space will foster habits, thought patterns, passions, and human connections that will change your life forever.
Hatha practices are designed to align and calm your body, mind, and spirit in preparation for meditation. Hatha Yoga refers specifically to the practice of physical yoga postures, meaning Ashtanga, Vinyasa or any style we usually hear about, are all styles of Hatha Yoga.
A daily practice will enhance your performance in any other physical activity, whether it’s surf, sports in general, martial arts or just the way you move on your daily life; Yoga will help you develop flexibility, strength, stability and mobility as well as the right mindset and breathing techniques to better perform.
DISCONNECT TO RE-CONNECT
The practice itself uses a combination of breath and body movements to bring us to the present. After a short time practicing one starts finding a special way to connect, first to oneself and slowly to everything around us.
Yoga is also about love and compassion, and in a yoga practice you will experience a different relationship with time: hopefully a slower pace, some hints of what can be a mellow meditative state, where time appears to stop, to linger in some sort of infinity.
SURF & YOGA MINDSET
At Believe we find that this training of the mind, this awareness of our inner time, is opposite, and in that way complementary, to what we experience in surf, a discipline where timing is key, and our sharpness and connection to the context will be our strongest asset. And, again, the lesson salty water teaches us, just like Yoga, is to connect to the present moment.
It’s the connection between our minds, breath, and body when we are in motion, either on the yoga deck or in the water. Yoga, meditation, and surfing all go hand in hand.
DAILY YOGA PRACTICE
In our decks you will be able to practice different types of Hatha Yoga, with skilled teachers that offer inclusive practices, where any level of experience is welcomed. Our instructors are passionate, experienced, and welcoming. They all come from different backgrounds and styles of study.
Our students, guests and members have two decks and two full schedules to redeem their passes. Our aim is to offer a wide variety of classes on both decks throughout the day.
Both Schedules together offer more than 10 options per day, smartly distributed through the morning and late afternoon.
